A Halo twist has been added to Rocket League thanks to the substantial upgrade of Halo Infinite’s Forge tool in season five. The latest creation by Forger Dan The Bloke allows players to experience a fanmade version of Rocket League within the Halo universe. With expert scripting, the Razorback vehicles in the arena can now boost, jump, and wallride as players aim to score five goals. This showcases the incredible potential of Halo Infinite’s Forge tool.
The Haloified Rocket League created by Dan The Bloke is now available for testing. The simulation includes various details to make the experience as authentic as possible. The Razorbacks auto-flip if they get turned over, the ball has a neon glow to match Rocket League’s vibrant aesthetic, and scoring a goal results in explosive effects. Additionally, Razorbacks have a limited supply of boost that can be replenished through power-ups scattered across the field.
While there are a few rough edges, as seen in the shared clips, this Haloified Rocket League mode will undoubtedly be a perfect addition to Custom Games for parties. It can join the ranks of classics like Duck Hunt and Hexagon. Although using pings to activate most mechanics may feel a bit janky, the fact that it is possible to create this mode in Halo Infinite is a testament to the expansiveness of Forge.
Dan The Bloke has made both the original map and game mode available through Halo Waypoint’s content browser. He has also left off copy protection, allowing other creators to see the scripts used and potentially create their own maps for the mode. This could turn it from a proof of concept into a fully-fledged subsection of the content browser’s library.
The updates in season five brought notable additions to Forge, including AI toolsets, expanded budgets, additional canvases, and more Banished assets. With future updates planned for upcoming seasons, it is difficult to imagine what Forge will be capable of in the future. The possibilities are already impressive, and it will be exciting to see how Forge evolves over time.
