The AWP, a powerful weapon in Counter-Strike for years, presents new challenges in CS2 due to peeker’s advantage. While many AWPers have expressed their concerns, dev1ce finds himself embracing the changes made by Valve.
In CS:GO, the role of the primary sniper was crucial, with s1mple and ZywOo dominating the Best Player of the Year award. However, CS2 poses a threat to this meta as Valve has reduced the number of rounds in regulation and increased peeker’s advantage.
Despite being one of the greatest AWPers in CS:GO, dev1ce surprisingly enjoys the current state of CS2. He appreciates the challenge it brings and hopes that LAN ping and other factors will further enhance the AWPing experience. Dev1ce believes he has learned valuable game mechanics that will benefit him.
We haven’t seen much of dev1ce in CS2 yet, as Astralis didn’t participate in IEM Sydney. However, we can expect to witness his skills at the CS Asia Championships 2023, where he will be attending his first LAN tournament in the new game. Astralis will face Lynn Vision in the first round of Group A today at 11:30pm CT.
