After a disappointing performance in the Chinese Dota 2 region, Invictus Gaming (IG) has unveiled its new super team for the upcoming season. The team has made some impressive acquisitions, including Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang from LGD and Du “Monet” Peng from Team Aster. They join legendary players Yap “xNova” Jian Wei, Ye “BoBoKa” Zhibiao, and Thiay “JT-” Jun Wen to form a formidable lineup.
IG has been absent from major tournaments recently due to struggles in assembling a competitive roster. However, with LGD’s strong showing at The International 2023, many expected their roster to remain intact. IG surprised everyone by successfully recruiting NothingToSay and surrounding him with a star-studded lineup.
Monet has been a key contributor to Team Aster’s success in 2022, where they emerged as the top team in the Chinese Dota 2 scene. XNova, known for his fan-favorite status, gained attention during TI11 when he had to play alone on stage after his teammates tested positive for COVID. BoBoKa, who recently played for Xtreme Gaming, brings his experience from winning the second DPC tour of 2023.
With the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 qualifiers starting today, IG’s new roster will have the opportunity to showcase their synergy against some of the best teams in China. The competition will be fierce as only one qualifier spot is available for the event. Despite the recent formation of most teams after TI 2023, expectations are high for intense battles.
