A new collaboration between Tomb Raider and Magic: The Gathering is set to release in November. The upcoming Secret Lair drop will feature five reprinted MTG cards with new artwork inspired by the Tomb Raider franchise. These cards will be legal to play in their respective formats.
The Secret Lair drop includes the following reprints:
Original Card Name | New Card Name |
---|---|
Azcanta, the Sunken Ruin | The Lost Valley |
Anger of the Gods | Storms of Yamatai |
Bow of Nylea | The Grim Whisper |
Shadowspear | Totec’s Spear |
Academy Ruins | Kitezh, Sunken City |
In addition to these reprints, there will also be a token and a brand-new Magic card featuring Lara Croft as a Mythic Rare Legendary creature. Lara Croft, Tomb Raider, will be a Green/Blue/Red commander card with the following abilities:
- Type: Legendary Creature—Human Ranger
- Rarity: Mythic Rare
- Stats: 3/4
- Keywords: First Strike and Reach
- Ability: “Whenever Lara Croft attacks, exile up to one target Legendary Artifact card or Legendary Land from a graveyard and put a Discovery counter on it. You may play a card from exile with a Discovery counter on it this turn.”
- Raid ability: “At the end of combat on your turn, if you attacked this turn, create a Treasure token.”
Lara Croft, Tomb Raider, is a powerful commander for Artifact creatures in GUR colors. Her First Strike ability allows her to trigger her main ability and Raid, which generates a Treasure token at the end of combat. The reprints in the Secret Lair drop complement Lara Croft’s abilities, making it an exciting addition for players and collectors.
The Secret Lair Tomb Raider drop is scheduled to be released in the third week of November. To stay updated on the release date, interested individuals can sign up for notifications on the WotC website.
