After months of being at the bottom of the rankings, Deadlock, the Norwegian VALORANT agent, is finally getting the buffs she deserves in Patch 7.10. Despite her poor performance and low pick rates, Riot has neglected to make any changes to Deadlock until now. However, the good news has arrived, as Riot community lead Jeff Landa confirmed that Deadlock buffs are on the way.
In a recent TikTok video posted on the official VALORANT account, some upcoming changes to Deadlock’s kit were revealed. While the full patch notes are yet to be released, the video showcased improvements to Deadlock’s GravNet ability, which is currently considered weaker compared to similar abilities of other sentinel agents.
One significant change is that players caught in the GravNet will now have to manually remove it from their bodies, similar to Cypher’s Spycam dart. This gives Deadlock and her team more opportunities to capitalize on trapped enemies. The removal time has also been increased to 1.5 seconds, providing a greater window for strategic plays.
Additionally, the GravNet will now prevent agile agents like Jett from using their movement abilities to escape. In the video, we see a Jett attempting to Updraft out of the net but being held down by its force. The size and durability of the GravNet have also been enhanced, with an expanded radius of eight meters.
Furthermore, the effects of the GravNet on enemies will be more impactful. The force of gravity weighing them down will be stronger, significantly reducing the mobility of all agents caught in the trap.
These changes are highly promising for Deadlock and her potential as an agent. It is hoped that the upcoming patch will address other issues with her abilities, such as the Sound Sensor, which could benefit from adjustments to align it more closely with other sentinel agents’ abilities.
Stay tuned for the full VALORANT 7.10 patch notes to discover all the changes and improvements coming to Deadlock and other agents.
