It’s no secret that Counter-Strike 2 has its fair share of problems, but players unanimously agree on one major issue: the CT economy. According to a Reddit post by user Patient_Apartment415 on Nov. 13, the CT economy is a significant problem that needs to be addressed urgently. Despite other concerns like broken netcode and disappointing tick rate, it is the economy that requires the most attention.
The player argues that managing the CT economy is an ongoing struggle, particularly in average matchmaking games. They highlight two main issues: the low $1,400 first loss round bonus for CTs and the $800 reward for planting the bomb as Terrorists. Losing the pistol round as a CT often leads to the enemy team gaining a massive advantage by winning three consecutive rounds.
Additionally, the player points out the imbalance created by the Galil AR, a weapon available to Ts for $1,800, which is significantly stronger than anything CTs can purchase for the same price. Combined with peeker’s advantage and MR12 format, this creates an unfair advantage for the Terrorists in CS2.
The author suggests starting with a lower plant reward and eliminating the $1,400 loss bonus in MR12. While many others in the comments agree with this issue, finding a single solution to address the problem is challenging.
However, it is evident that the game has become T-sided, especially due to the lack of heavily CT-sided maps apart from Nuke. This sentiment has been echoed by professional players over the past few months. Therefore, it is possible that Valve developers will eventually update the game to address these concerns.
