The Battle of Flashes: T1 vs. Weibo Gaming

Tim Price

The Flash debate in League of Legends may finally be settled as T1 and Weibo Gaming face off in the Worlds 2023 finals. T1 players use F for Flash, while Weibo players prefer D. This clash of keybinds will determine once and for all which option is the most optimal.

Flash, the ability to quickly reposition in the game, is typically bound to either F or D. While there is no default keybind, statistics show that D is the more popular choice globally, except in South Korea where F is favored. Interestingly, every T1 player uses F for Flash, while every Weibo player uses D.

The influence of T1’s legendary mid laner, Faker, cannot be underestimated. As the greatest player of all time, Faker has long used F for Flash, and his countrymen in South Korea follow suit. In fact, 76 percent of Korean players use F for Flash, compared to just over 50 percent in other regions.

The highly anticipated Worlds 2023 final between T1 and Weibo Gaming will take place on November 19 at 3am CT. T1, aiming for their fourth Worlds title, will not only compete for the championship but also for the validation of using F for Flash. Meanwhile, Weibo Gaming seeks their first trophy and the opportunity to prove the superiority of the D keybind.
