Deadlock mains have reason to celebrate as Riot Games is giving the sentinel agent some much-needed buffs in VALORANT Patch 7.10. These changes should make Deadlock more popular and increase her effectiveness in the game.
Previously, Deadlock was struggling to find her place in the game, with low pick rates among both professional players and casual gamers. However, the buffs in Patch 7.10 aim to change that by improving her abilities.
The main focus of the buffs is on Deadlock’s GravNet (C) ability. Previously, the effect of the net would expire over time or when the enemy moved out of its radius. Now, enemies caught in the GravNet must manually remove the net to remove the debuff. This adds a new level of interaction and strategy to the ability, as enemies will have to put down their weapons and make noise to deal with the debuff.
In addition, the removal time for GravNet has been increased from 0.85 seconds to 1.5 seconds, giving Deadlock more time to execute her strategy. The radius of the ability has also been increased from six meters to eight meters. These changes make the ability more reliable and prevent Agents like Jett and Raze from easily escaping its effects with their mobility.
Jett has also received a minor change in Patch 7.10. Her third-person animations while using her ultimate Blade Storm (X) have been tweaked to improve visibility and understanding of her movements.
In Team Deathmatch mode, Reyna’s abilities were deemed too powerful and have been nerfed specifically for this mode. The cooldown for her Leer (C) ability has been increased from 44 seconds to 51 seconds, and her ultimate Empress (X) charges 14 percent slower. These changes aim to balance Reyna’s power in TDM and force players to prioritize orbs to utilize her ultimate effectively.
Fade, on the other hand, needed a buff in TDM as her utility was harder to utilize in this mode. The cooldown for her Prowler (C) ability has been reduced from 44 seconds to 36 seconds, and the cooldown for her Seize (Q) ability has been reduced from 51 seconds to 48 seconds.
Aside from these agent changes, Patch 7.10 also includes bug fixes. Some notable fixes include reverb being properly applied to gunshots and footsteps, Viper’s Pit (X) correctly blocking vision for enemies on the minimap, and fixing issues with Fade’s Prowler (C) ability passing through certain objects.
Riot has also made improvements to player behavior by fixing the cut-off text issue in the report button for the Arabic language and adding presets to the stats page in VALORANT.
