Bleed Esports Signs Taiga and Masaros for Dota 2 Roster

Derek Morgan

Bleed Esports, a Dota 2 team, has finalized its roster by signing former-OG star Taiga and Masaros. The team is preparing for the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 closed qualifiers, which begin on Nov. 16. With the competition in Southeast Asia increasing, Bleed Esports aims to redeem itself after missing out on The International this year.

Bleed entered the Dota 2 scene in late 2022 with a promising roster featuring iceiceice and DuBu. However, the team failed to live up to expectations and fell short of qualifying for The International. For the upcoming 2024 Dota season, Bleed has decided to retain its core trio of JaCkky, Kordan, and DJ while adding talented players on the comeback trail like Masaros and Taiga.

Taiga’s signing marks a fresh start for him, as he has been battling addiction issues that affected his performance. After starting 2023 with OG, Taiga moved to the inactive roster and later played in the NA qualifiers for TI 2023 with Wildcard Gaming. Despite the challenges, Taiga chose to continue pursuing his passion and signed with Bleed, a team also looking for a comeback.

In its first two 2023 DPC tours, Bleed narrowly avoided relegation. Although the team won the third DPC tour, they couldn’t carry the momentum into the TI 2023 qualifiers. Now, with the revamped lineup, Bleed will compete in the Southeast Asia Closed Qualifier for ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, starting on Nov. 16.

Bleed received one of the three invites for the qualifiers, alongside Aurora and Talon Esports. Execration, Geek Fam, IHC Esports, Blacklist International, and Neon Esports qualified through the open qualifiers. The winner of the Closed Qualifier will secure a spot in the LAN event on Dec. 11.
