Overwatch 2 Players Demand Changes to McCree’s Weak Abilities

superadmin

Outspoken players of Overwatch 2 are calling for a revamp of the revolver-wielding cowboy, McCree, due to his lackluster move set. Suggestions from fans include overhauling his grenade and key abilities, as well as reintroducing old mechanics to make McCree more popular among players.

McCree’s grenade has undergone numerous buffs, nerfs, and updates throughout Overwatch 2’s history. In the past, it dealt significant damage and could easily eliminate a 250-health opponent with just one bullet as a follow-up.

Some players have proposed bringing back McCree’s flashbang ability, as its current form is considered frustrating to play against and unsatisfying to use. Many believe that reverting to the previous version would be the best solution to this issue.

Regardless of the specific changes, Overwatch 2 players on social media unanimously agree that McCree is currently the weakest DPS character in the game. His lack of synergy with the rest of the team, lower magazine capacity, and underwhelming grenade are major concerns.

If Blizzard heeds the demands of these Overwatch 2 players and decides to give McCree a makeover, it would be the third hero to receive a complete overhaul. The reworks of Roadhog and Sombra have generally been well-received, so perhaps it’s time to take McCree back to the drawing board, considering his current position at the bottom of the roster.

However, it remains uncertain whether the developers will listen to these requests. Without another Overwatch 2 developer roadmap, there is no way to know if they have plans to make changes to McCree.

If the developers do decide to address the concerns, it will likely be a while before the revamped McCree is available on live servers, given the time it took for the Roadhog rework to be implemented.
