Players of the game Lies of P were left devastated when they discovered that their save files had vanished after the latest patch. The developer, Neowiz, quickly addressed the issue but for some players, it was already too late.
Upon installing the patch, Lies of P players found that their previous save files had been completely overwritten by an auto-save feature. To make matters worse, those who had auto-sync enabled also lost their cloud save, leaving them with both a bugged local save file and a bugged cloud save.
Neowiz released a statement on November 15th, acknowledging the problem and offering a temporary solution. However, many players had already suffered irreversible loss of progress. Losing save files in a Soulslike game can be a major blow, leading players to abandon the game entirely.
To prevent further loss, it is recommended that players disable cloud save auto-sync in their PlayStation 5 settings and manually upload their current Lies of P save file as a backup. Unfortunately, this option is only available to PS Plus subscribers who have access to cloud saves.
