The upcoming For Rent expansion pack for The Sims 4 is taking the life simulator to a whole new level of realism, and it’s getting a bit gross. However, players are actually quite excited about it.
On November 16, the official gameplay trailer for the For Rent expansion pack was released, giving us more insight into what we can expect. The trailer follows a property owner dealing with tenants and reveals the return of roaches and an exterminator to deal with them. There’s also a disgusting death featured in the pack, where a Sim becomes a mold-infested zombie-like creature before perishing.
Sims players are excited about the return of roaches and hope they will affect Sim’s health as they did in The Sims 2, potentially leading to new deaths and ghost types. The pack also includes “busted” and broken units, taking filth to a whole new level.
With new utility items like water heaters and electrical fuse boxes, units can become even more disgusting if not attended to. The new squatting toilet also requires frequent cleaning and draws the attention of young Sims.
Apart from the gross features, the trailer highlights an expansion to the Repo-man system, allowing players to steal tenant’s items if they don’t pay rent on time. The ability to freely customize and designate units is also showcased, giving players the freedom to design multi-unit spaces however they want.
The For Rent expansion pack will be released on December 7, offering players the opportunity to explore all the fun grossness and more.
