Starfield Bug: Phased Time Power Causes Players to Get Stuck in Slow-Mo World

Tim Price

Starfield players are encountering a persistent bug involving the Phased Time power that slows down time. This bug has taken on various forms and continues to plague the game.

On November 16, a player shared their experience of the Phased Time bug combined with invisibility. They found themselves trapped in a slow-motion world, completely invisible, with no way to return to normal. The player mentioned being in New Game +10, where the Phased Time power is at its maximum level, which may have triggered the bug. Any save file with Phased Time X was affected, forcing them to revert back to New Game +9 for the time being.

Some fans humorously described the situation as being stuck in a universe where time moves slower and gaining the power of invisibility, similar to the Fantastic Four. While amusing, community members suggested several workarounds to fix the bug, such as sitting in a chair and passing time, changing the character’s appearance, or using a computer terminal. However, restarting the game may not fully resolve the issue, as the bug may persist when using Phased Time again.

Another player on Reddit shared a more advanced solution to escape infinite Phased Time by utilizing Boost Assault Training Rank 4, which slows down time while hovering. By jumping and aiming with a weapon, and then stopping aiming, time should return to normal.

The bug seems to affect players differently, with some able to resolve it by reloading their save file, while others remain trapped in the phased dimension regardless of waiting, fast-traveling, or using terminals. Bethesda has yet to release a patch for this issue, leaving players to find their own solutions or wait for a dedicated update or community mod. Until then, caution is advised when using Phased Time, as it may result in an extended stay in the slow-mo world.
