Destiny 2 Season of the Wish Introduces Reprised Exotic Rocket Launcher

superadmin

Bungie has revealed the new Exotic weapon coming in Destiny 2’s Season of the Wish, and it’s a familiar one. The Dragon’s Breath rocket launcher, known from Destiny 1, is making a comeback with a fresh makeover and new perks.

In Season 23, players will have the opportunity to obtain the Dragon’s Breath Exotic rocket launcher through the season pass. This is fitting, as the upcoming season will revolve around Ahamkara dragons.

The Dragon’s Breath’s Exotic intrinsic perk, Burn the World, introduces a fuel counter that replenishes up to five stacks passively. When fired, the rockets embed themselves in targets, causing Scorch damage and periodically releasing incendiary fuel pools that inflict additional Scorch damage. The duration and spread of the fire depend on the amount of fuel consumed.

The second Exotic intrinsic perk, High Octane, refills the Dragon’s Breath’s fuel when nearby ignitions occur. Once the fuel is capped, the weapon automatically reloads itself, ensuring it is always ready for use.

Additionally, the Dragon’s Breath Catalyst, obtainable from Banshee-44, increases the rate at which fuel replenishes and creates Firesprites upon eliminating enemies with this weapon.

Players are excited about the potential of the revamped Dragon’s Breath. In Destiny 1, the weapon was often considered underwhelming, but the new perks make it a promising choice for Solar builds focused on ignitions. Warlocks with Sunbracers or Hunters with Caliban’s Hand can fully utilize the Exotic perks.

The Firesprites generated by the Catalyst further enhance these builds. Many players believe that the Dragon’s Breath will excel in both clearing ads and dealing damage to bosses. However, its true potential will only be revealed when Season of the Wish begins on November 28th.
