The highly anticipated Apex Rising Charity Pro-AM event is making a comeback, featuring renowned pro players such as ImperialHal, Verhulst, and Hakis. Taking place from December 14 to 15, this event aims to raise funds for (RED), a charity focused on AIDS awareness and prevention.
Apex Rising 1.0, held in April 2023, successfully raised an impressive $337,668. Now, Apex Rising 2.0 has the challenge of surpassing this record. As a community-driven event, it aims to engage Apex Legends fans worldwide, allowing amateurs, community members, and streamers to compete alongside professional players.
The first Apex Rising event included players from over 15 countries, with more than 120 amateur and pro players, as well as 20 broadcast talent and observers. However, organizers are confident that Apex Rising 2.0 will surpass these numbers and further enhance the community spirit.
The core principle of Apex Rising is to provide opportunities for those who contribute the most to the Apex Legends community. It aims to support and uplift individuals from grassroots to professional levels. The event attracts a diverse range of talent, from community managers to aspiring pros, all united in raising funds for charity.
Notable Apex Legends professionals, including TSM’s ImperialHal and Verhulst, as well as Alliance’s Hakis, have already confirmed their participation in Apex Rising 2.0. Additionally, DJ Elephante and actor Jack Falahee from “How to Get Away With Murder” will also compete in the tournament.
Building on the success of Apex Rising 1.0, the organizers have collaborated with various communities within Apex Legends to unite all those invested in the game and its esports scene. Prominent groups such as AWCS (Apex Women’s Competitive Scene), Liquipedia, Exo Clan, UTFT, and other collegiate and high school organizations have guaranteed slots in the charity event.
Jon “Fallout” Kefaloukos, a core member of Apex Rising’s event management, explained that the tournament aims to better connect the Apex community with its professional and content creator scene while fundraising for a great cause.
Community-oriented tournaments have always been central to the Apex Legends community. Fallout’s first content creator tournament in March 2023 showed him the fun and excitement of competitive community events. He wanted to provide this opportunity to those who rarely get the chance, especially when it can contribute to a good cause.
Amateur and caster applications for the Apex Rising Charity Pro-AM tournament are open until November 26. This gives members of the Apex community a chance to apply and potentially play alongside the game’s most famous faces. Apex Rising aims to empower community members to turn their passion into action for a good cause, making a positive impact for everyone involved.
Apex Rising will take place on December 14-15, 2023. All funds raised during the charity event will go directly to (RED), an organization focused on AIDS awareness and prevention. (RED) collaborates with top brands, collaborators, and communities to raise awareness about preventable and treatable diseases that still affect many individuals.
Participants in the event will fundraise and stream their gameplay, aiming to surpass the record set by Apex Rising 1.0. The goal is to raise as much money as possible for (RED). ImperialHal, Verhulst, and Hakis are just the first of 40 professional players confirmed for the event, with more to come.
Expect to see all your favorite Apex Legends icons involved in what promises to be the biggest third-party event of the year.
