Team Liquid Drops Patsi from CS:GO Roster, Begins Rebuild

Xavier Ward

Team Liquid has officially parted ways with Robert “Patsi” Isyanov from their Counter-Strike roster, signaling their intention to rebuild the team.

Liquid, known for their North American roots, transitioned to a predominantly European roster earlier this year. However, their performance in recent events has been lackluster, prompting the reported rebuild.

The team is rumored to be bringing in Twistzz and cadiaN to complete their five-man roster for the upcoming CS2 season. Alongside NAF, YEKINDAR, and Felipe “skullz” Medeiros, Liquid aims to return to an Americas-majority lineup. Additionally, they have enlisted the guidance of Major-winning coach Wilton “zews” Prado.

Patsi’s departure comes as no surprise, as his statistical performance has been underwhelming. With a 1.00 HLTV Rating in LAN competition, he fell short of expectations. Despite being a former Rookie of the Year nominee, Patsi struggled to replicate his success with Team Spirit, where he achieved a 1.13 Rating. His best performance with Liquid was against Lynn Vision, where he excelled with a +10 K/D in both maps of a 2-0 victory. However, he failed to deliver consistent positive K/D performances, culminating in a disappointing -12 K/D in his final map against Eternal Fire.

Team Liquid, once considered the leading North American team on the international stage, has not been able to secure a Major title despite winning an IEM Grand Slam in 2019. The addition of Twistzz, who is the only NA player to have won both an IEM Grand Slam and a Major, brings back an important player from their successful run.

The CS landscape is undergoing significant changes, with other teams such as Heroic, Team Vitality, and IEM Sydney winners FaZe Clan also making substantial roster adjustments. As the first Major in CS2 approaches in March 2024, many teams are scrambling to finalize their lineups.

Opponent Map K/D
