Starfield’s Steam Rating Drops to “Mixed” as Player Count Declines

Derek Morgan

Starfield, the highly anticipated space epic from Bethesda, has seen a decline in its player count and a drop in its Steam rating just two months after its release. According to Steam Charts, the game has experienced a 50% decrease in player count from last month, with an average of around 26,500 concurrent players in the last 30 days.

The decrease in player count can be attributed to several factors, including players completing the game and mixed reviews from the gaming community. Since its debut, Starfield has received a total of 75,627 reviews on Steam, with players expressing various criticisms and some defending the game.

It is important to note that Starfield is a single-player game and does not rely on multiplayer features to maintain its player count like competitive titles such as Overwatch or Counter-Strike. However, it seems that the game’s single-player experience is not meeting the expectations of many players, leading to negative reviews.

One common complaint is the lack of depth in Starfield beyond its number of planets. Players feel that the game fails to create a sense of immersion and makes them feel insignificant in a world that is supposed to be vast. The repetitive nature of missions has also been criticized, with players claiming that the missions become monotonous after the first few.

On the other hand, some players have praised the game for its abundance of content and the sheer number of planets available for exploration. These contrasting opinions contribute to the mixed rating on Steam.

Despite the decline in player count, Starfield has managed to maintain a minimum of 10,000 concurrent players throughout November. Its ability to retain the remaining player base remains uncertain as the discussion surrounding the game continues.
