In a recent Reddit thread, a player named Vortex432 conducted a test to determine the tankiest hero in Overwatch 2 by pitting them against Bastion’s powerful turret form. The results were surprising, with Ramattra emerging as the ultimate survivor.
Ramattra, a formidable tank hero, showcased incredible resilience by lasting nearly 10 seconds against Bastion’s onslaught. With 300 health in Open Queue (or 450 in Role Queue) and a shield capable of absorbing up to 1,000 damage, Ramattra proved to be a force to be reckoned with.
What sets Ramattra apart from the rest is his unique abilities. His Nemesis form grants him 225 points of armor, providing additional protection against Bastion’s attacks. Additionally, he can block 75 percent of incoming damage for a brief duration of 0.2 seconds. These abilities explain why Ramattra outlasted every other hero in the game.
Reinhardt, once considered the tankiest hero, now takes second place behind Ramattra. With over five seconds of survival time, Reinhardt’s immense health pool and sturdy shield contribute to his impressive endurance.
It’s important to note that each tank hero in Overwatch 2 possesses their own strengths and weaknesses. While some heroes like Junker Queen and Doomfist may have shorter survival times, they compensate for it with aggressive abilities, mobility, or crowd control.
Although Mauga, the upcoming tank hero in Overwatch 2, is not featured in the test, it is unlikely that he will match Ramattra’s level of tankiness. Mauga’s abilities rely on dealing damage to be effective, which may not provide the same level of survivability as Ramattra’s defensive capabilities.
