Almost a month after its release, Cities Skylines 2 won’t be getting its expansion pass DLC soon.
In a blog post by developer Colossal Order, CEO Mariina Hallikainen announced that they will be delaying some of the upcoming content for the game in order to focus on improving the PC version of Cities Skylines 2. The DLC content will be released once the PC version is up to their standards.
The first Asset Pack called “Beach Properties” will now be released in Q1 2024 instead of its original Q4 2023 release window. Hallikainen assured players that the pack has been worked on by their artists and outsourcing partner, but they want to ensure that the asset fix and performance work are completed before implementing it.
The Content Creator Packs and three DLC radio stations will also be delayed, with new release windows in Q2 2024. Hallikainen apologized for the delay but emphasized the importance of not rushing new content before the base game is ready for it.
Last week, a hotfix was released that addressed issues such as the “Garbage Piling Up” notifications, which were not clearing properly after previous fixes. Hallikainen highlighted this fix as one of the recent improvements made to the game.
Despite the delay in DLC content, Colossal Order remains committed to bringing the promised content to players. They are prioritizing the improvement of the PC version and will then shift their focus to the console release and DLC content.
Please note that the table content should remain unchanged.
