Riot Games is introducing new items for assassins in the upcoming 2024 preseason of League of Legends. These items will enhance the strengths of assassins, making it easier for them to deal a single, killing blow to their enemies. However, to maintain game balance, Riot is retiring two existing items, Duskblade of Draktharr and Prowler’s Claw.
The new additions to the assassin item lineup include Voltaic Cyclosword, Profane Hydra, Hubris, and Opportunity. These Legendary-tier items will provide assassins with various benefits as they progress in the game. Voltaic Cyclosword grants a powerful slow effect to melee assassins, while Profane Hydra offers an area-of-effect slash ability along with lethality. Hubris and Opportunity reward players for securing champion kills, granting bonus stats and stacks for a limited duration.
One existing assassin item, Serylda’s Grudge, will also receive an update. This item will now only slow enemies below half health, but champions who build it will gain lethality armor penetration.
If you’re eager to try out these new items, they will be available for testing on League’s PBE server starting today. However, you can still enjoy using Duskblade until the changes are implemented at the start of the 2024 season.
