T1 Announces Return of Legendary Coach kkOma

superadmin

Legendary coach kkOma is making a comeback to T1, just days after the team’s victory at Worlds 2023. This move shows that T1 is not resting on their laurels and is actively looking to improve their League of Legends roster.

To accommodate kkOma’s return, T1 had to make some changes to their coaching staff. Sky and Roach have left the squad, while Tom has transitioned from Interim Head Coach to Coach. This means that kkOma will once again take on the role of Head Coach for the legendary team.

kkOma needs no introduction to competitive League fans. He gained fame by leading Faker and SKT T1 to three World Championships in 2013, 2015, and 2016. His success during this time solidified his reputation as one of the greatest coaches in the game’s history. After leaving SKT in 2019, kkOma joined Vici Gaming in China, but the team struggled and failed to qualify for playoffs in the 2020 season. He then returned to South Korea and joined DWG KIA after their Worlds 2020 victory. In 2021, DWG KIA reached the finals of both the Mid-Season Invitational and Worlds, narrowly losing to Chinese teams.

In 2022, kkOma remained with DWG KIA as an Athletic Director before taking a break in 2023. Now, he is back in the competitive League scene under T1’s banner.

While T1 has made changes to their coaching staff, fans are hopeful that the roster will remain intact following their Worlds 2023 triumph. The contracts of Zeus, Gumayusi, and Keria expired on Nov. 20, and it is now up to the players and the organization to negotiate new terms if they wish to continue their partnership.
