A new update for Modern Warfare 3 has just been released, bringing changes to multiplayer weapons and addressing a frustrating issue in the Zombies mode.
In the Zombies mode, players have been struggling against the AI mercenaries in Urzikstan. However, this update brings good news as the damage inflicted by these enemies on player armor has been reduced. This change will surely be welcomed by players who have had their zombie-killing spree cut short by these formidable foes.
The reduction in damage dealt by AI mercenaries is reminiscent of a similar bug that plagued Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ mode last year. It’s great to see the developers addressing this issue promptly.
Other improvements in the Zombies mode include adjustments to prioritize ground spawns for zombies, fixes for challenges and missions not tracking or completing correctly, and ensuring that Warlord kill credit for the “Storm the Castle” mission counts for the entire squad.
Additionally, several popular multiplayer weapons have received significant nerfs in this update. The Holger 556, DG-58, and FR 5.56, among others, have been adjusted to bring them more in line with other weapons. Submachine guns like the Striker, AMR9, and Striker 9 have also undergone changes to enhance their viability and competitiveness.
The most notable change is the reduction in lethality for the FR 5.56 and DG-58. These weapons now require two headshots to eliminate an enemy with a single three-round burst fire. These adjustments aim to improve the consistency and effectiveness of submachine guns, aligning them with their intended role in the game.
Overall, these changes are substantial and are likely to be well-received by players. While it’s impossible to please everyone, these adjustments were necessary to address the overpowered nature of certain weapons and to provide a more balanced gameplay experience.
