Riot Pehrek, an engineer on the League team, recently shared a terrifying bug that occurred during testing for the upcoming 2024 League of Legends season. The bug involved the new Voidgrubs, which were added to replace the first Rift Herald spawn on Summoner’s Rift. Normally, players would attack these Voidgrubs and trigger the spawning of smaller Voidmites to defend themselves.
However, in this glitch, when the developer attacked the Voidgrubs, instead of Voidmites appearing, a swarm of mini Nashors (Baron creatures) flooded the Baron pit. Although visually alarming, these mini Barons did not attack like a normal Baron and only used Voidmite auto-attacks. Nevertheless, the sight of ten tiny Barons would startle any player before they fought for survival.
Fortunately, this bug has already been resolved by the Riot developers before it was released for live testing. Players can now safely try out all the new changes on the Summoner’s Rift without worrying about unexpected encounters with mini Barons. This bug fix demonstrates the effectiveness of the testing server in identifying and eliminating glitches before they impact the live game.
