The Terarium’s four biomes – Savanna, Polar, Coastal, and Canyon – provide a rich and immersive environment for players to discover. Each biome is home to specific Pokémon that are well-suited to their respective habitats. For example, the Savanna Biome features Pokémon like Girafarig, Pyroar, Rhyhorn, Zebstrika, and Rellor, a bug-type Pokémon. These choices reflect the real-life animals found in savannas, such as giraffes, lions, rhinos, zebras, and dung beetles.
Unlike the older Safari Zones, which had limited Pokémon diversity, the Terarium takes advantage of the vast number of Pokémon introduced in recent generations. This means players can expect a wider range of species to encounter and catch.
Additionally, the Terarium incorporates regional variants, a feature introduced in Generation VII. Previously, these variants were only available in their respective regions or through special events. However, in The Indigo Disk DLC, players will have the opportunity to encounter and capture regional variants in specific biomes. For example, Alolan Exeggutor can be found in the Coastal Biome, resembling its appearance in the Alola region, while Alolan Sandshrew can be found in the Polar Biome with its ice typing and igloo-like appearance.
