Legendary in-game leader gla1ve has officially parted ways with Astralis after a remarkable seven-year tenure. While the new organization he will be joining remains undisclosed, rumors suggest that he may be heading to ENCE alongside Polish head coach Jakub “kuben” Gurczyński. This move comes as ENCE is reportedly losing their current IGL Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer to Falcons.
During his time with Astralis, gla1ve achieved great success, winning four CS:GO Majors under the Astralis banner between 2017 and 2019, as well as the Intel Grand Slam in 2018. His tactical prowess and strategic system, developed alongside zonic, revolutionized the professional CS:GO scene during their peak years in 2018 and 2019. However, Astralis faced challenges in recent times, struggling to secure major titles after losing key players like dev1ce, Magisk, dupreeh, and zonic.
After spending the past five months on Astralis’ bench, gla1ve’s departure marks the end of an era. He expressed his gratitude towards Astralis and the team’s achievements, acknowledging the special place they hold in his heart. Gla1ve also mentioned that the past two years have taught him valuable lessons that he will carry into his next chapter.
As gla1ve’s next move is yet to be announced, fans eagerly await news of his future endeavors in the CS:GO scene.
