The League of Legends community is buzzing with excitement as the 2024 preseason changes have been announced. With tweaks to the Summoner’s Rift terrain, Baron Nashor’s effects, a revamped Infernal Rift, and overhauled items, there’s plenty to look forward to in the upcoming season.
As an average player who doesn’t grind the game like I used to, it’s not always easy for me to get excited about League. The toxic community and my below-average skills often deter me from playing. However, Riot Games has managed to capture my attention once again with their latest trailer for the 2024 preseason.
Usually, when preseason changes are announced, I’m not thrilled. The developers tend to focus on item mechanics and jungle adjustments, which don’t interest me as a top lane main. But this year is different. The new terrain changes, particularly the isolation of the top lane, have me eagerly awaiting the new season.
Finally, I’ll be able to focus solely on my enemy laner and enjoy the one-vs-one mini-game that I’ve been craving for years. The other terrain changes, such as new jungle corridors and improved ganking opportunities, promise to make the game more dynamic, especially in my Silver rank.
Furthermore, the addition of a new monster in the Baron pit and Baron Nashor’s influence on other creatures on the Rift opens up exciting possibilities. Combined with more champion quests, my inner lore fanboy and gamer are filled with anticipation for the 2024 preseason.
I believe I’m not the only gaming veteran who will be returning to League once the preseason launches. The major tweaks this year offer a fresh perspective and a chance to experience the game in a new way. I can’t wait to lock myself in my apartment and immerse myself in League, just like I did as a kid during winter.
However, I know that my patience for trolls and toxic individuals will eventually run out. But until then, I plan to have as much fun as I once had playing League.
