A former Naughty Dog employee’s LinkedIn work history suggests that The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered will feature a thrilling new roguelike mode with 12 different levels. The original game, released in 2020, already captivated players with its stunning world and intense storyline. So why the need for a remake so soon?
According to a tweet by Joanastic, an ex-Naughty Dog employee’s LinkedIn profile reveals their involvement in developing 12 unique levels for a new roguelike mode in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. This exciting addition will provide players with a fresh survival experience.
Sony has updated the official page for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, confirming the inclusion of the roguelike survival mode called “No Return.” Players will face randomized encounters in familiar locations from the original game, striving to survive for as long as possible. However, this new game mode is exclusively available on the PS5 remastered version. To access the additional content, including the roguelike survival mode, players must upgrade their PS4 copy of the original game.
Unfortunately, the upgrade and its pricing details will only be available on the PlayStation store starting from January 19, 2024. So, eager fans will have to exercise patience or mark their calendars for the release date.
While the exact number of roguelike levels remains unconfirmed, Sony’s acknowledgment of the new mode assures players that The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered will offer an enhanced and exhilarating gaming experience. Whether it’s 12 levels or more, the addition of the roguelike mode promises to bring a whole new level of excitement to the game.
