After much speculation and rumors, it seems that Team Liquid’s Counter-Strike 2 team is finally coming together. According to a report from Dust2.us on November 27th, Casper “cadiaN” Møller, Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, and Felipe “skullz” Medeiros have reportedly signed with the American organization.
The report states that Team Liquid is now ready to proceed with its competitive season, with cadiaN and Twistzz fulfilling their obligations to their former teams at Heroic and FaZe Clan during last week’s BLAST Premier Fall Final. This means that they are now fully committed to Team Liquid.
In addition to cadiaN and Twistzz, veteran coach Wilton “zews” Prado will also be joining the team. He previously worked with Twistzz in 2017 and 2018 before leaving, while Twistzz stayed with Liquid and helped establish them as one of the most successful squads in the late 2010s. Twistzz was a key part of the lineup that dominated world CS in 2019, winning seven LAN titles and an Intel Grand Slam. After a successful stint in Europe with FaZe, Twistzz remains relevant and ready to contribute to Team Liquid’s success.
CadiaN’s addition to the team marks his return to the North American region. He previously represented Rogue in 2017 and 2018 before taking a break after his controversial exit from Heroic last October. The 21-year-old Brazilian rifler skullz, who recently finished a year-long stint with paiN Gaming, completes the roster additions. The team is looking to put their tumultuous 2023 behind them, as the European version of Team Liquid struggled to achieve top-eight finishes in any tournament after the Paris Major.
With the addition of cadiaN, Twistzz, and skullz, Team Liquid’s roster for 2024 looks significantly stronger than their previous lineups. Only Keith “NAF” Markovic and Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis remain from the 2023 roster. The team will need to quickly gel together as they prepare for important tournaments such as IEM Katowice and the PGL Copenhagen Major qualifiers in the first quarter of 2024.
Overall, Team Liquid’s CS:GO team is shaping up to be a formidable force with the new additions to their roster. Fans can expect exciting gameplay and a strong performance from the team in the upcoming season.
