Xbox players are still in the dark about the release date for Baldur’s Gate 3, despite conflicting statements from Larian Studios and Xbox head Phil Spencer.
Date | Event | Score |
---|---|---|
Aug. 3 | Baldur’s Gate 3 released on PC | N/A |
Sept. 6 | Baldur’s Gate 3 set for PlayStation release | N/A |
TBD | Baldur’s Gate 3 Xbox release | N/A |
Developer Michael Douse previously stated that technical issues were preventing the Xbox launch, specifically related to split-screen problems on the Xbox Series S. However, Phil Spencer denies this, stating that parity is not the issue and that there are differences in features even within Xbox’s own games.
Spencer recently met with Larian Studios at Gamescom and expressed confidence in finding a solution. Meanwhile, the lack of split-screen multiplayer in Forza Motorsport at launch is also not attributed to the restrictions of the Series S, but rather a decision made by the developers based on usage.
