After a year of searching, one of EMEA’s most successful free agent rosters in Apex Legends has finally found a home. Fire Beavers, led by team captain and IGL Kiryl “9impulse” Kostsiu, has been signed by Aurora Gaming. The organization returns to the scene after a tumultuous year and will now support Fire Beavers as they compete in the ALGS Championship in Birmingham.
Fire Beavers, consisting of 9impulse, Lev “taskmast33r” Grigoriev, Svyatoslav “ojrein” Korochinsky, and coach Nikita “clawz” Marchinsky, started their journey in 2021 as one of the last unsigned CIS teams in the EMEA Pro League. They later secured sponsorship from ZETA DIVISION for the 2021-2022 ALGS, achieving moderate success with a 12th place Pro League finish and an 18th place at the 2022 Championship before parting ways with the organization.
In the 2023 ALGS, Fire Beavers faced visa issues that prevented them from competing on the international stage. This unfortunate situation has affected other CIS players and teams as well due to the ongoing invasion of Ukraine. Despite these setbacks, Fire Beavers managed to bounce back and secure a fourth place finish in the Pro League for Split Two, earning enough circuit points to qualify for the Championship.
Aurora Gaming, previously known as Team Empire, dropped their roster following a disappointing performance at the Split Two Playoffs. However, they have now re-entered Apex Legends by signing Fire Beavers and will be competing in the ALGS Championship alongside Alliance’s Effect, another team with CIS players.
The Championship games will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 6, with Aurora Gaming competing in Group A. Fans can watch the team’s matches through Twitch’s Command Center or on the main PlayApex streams on Twitch and Youtube.
