Riot Games’ popular first-person shooter, VALORANT, is set to introduce a new map called Sunset. The leaked visuals of the map suggest a beautiful combination of classic and modern designs, featuring buildings with the iconic Mission Revival architecture found in sunny Los Angeles.
The screenshot shared by ValorLeaks showcases various landmarks, including a theater with a prominent “sunset” sign, as well as a partially destroyed building supported by an unknown force. The map also includes a basketball court, multiple levels, staircases, and strategic angles for players to explore.
According to ValorLeaks, Sunset will have two sites and no movement gimmicks, which has already generated excitement among players. This means there won’t be teleporters, doors, or massive ziplines like in previous maps, making gameplay the sole determinant of outcomes.
The community had already begun speculating about the next map’s location after the release of the Golden Hour player card, which featured palm trees and Mission Revival-style homes. Riot has a history of teasing upcoming content through battle pass player cards, and it seems this trend will continue.
Further confirmation came from a trailer where Cypher and Deadlock discussed the movements of Kingdom Laboratories. In the background, Cypher briefly displayed a map on his monitors, which internet sleuths discovered to be a perfect match for an area near Long Beach, just outside of Los Angeles.
The official announcement of Sunset is expected during the 2023 VALORANT Champions pre-show before the grand finals on Saturday, August 26.
