One player took to Reddit to share a relatable meme that perfectly captures the rollercoaster of emotions experienced when encountering Mythical Pokémon. Players are thrilled at the prospect of catching these rare creatures, but their excitement quickly turns to disappointment if the Pokémon has unfavorable Individual Values (IVs).
While it is natural for Pokémon to have varying IVs, this issue is particularly aggravating with Mythical Pokémon for several reasons. These Pokémon are often only available through paid tickets, like Diancie during this year’s Go Fest. However, even purchasing a ticket does not guarantee a Mythical Pokémon with good IVs. Additionally, players may only have one chance to encounter the Mythical Pokémon, meaning they must wait a long time for another opportunity if the IVs are not satisfactory.
In response to this problem, players have proposed a practical solution: introducing Bottle Caps from the main series games to Pokémon Go. In the main games, Bottle Caps can be used to maximize a Pokémon’s IVs through Hyper Training. Implementing this feature in Pokémon Go would be a game-changer, allowing players to strengthen their weaker Mythical Pokémon.
To maintain fairness, acquiring Bottle Caps could be challenging or limited in quantity. This would prevent players from easily boosting their Mythical Pokémon and require them to invest effort and patience.
By introducing Bottle Caps to Pokémon Go, Niantic could address the frustrations players face when encountering Mythical Pokémon with unfavorable IVs. This change would enhance the overall gameplay experience and provide a fair opportunity for players to improve their Pokémon’s stats.
