Baldur’s Gate 3 Continues to Thrive with 700,000 Players a Month After Release

superadmin

Baldur’s Gate 3 is winning the hearts of gamers as it surpasses even Elden Ring in popularity. The highly anticipated RPG sequel from Larian Studios has attracted a staggering 700,000 players just one month after its official launch, according to recent Steam data shared on Reddit. This remarkable success puts it ahead of other major single-player PC releases.

Despite its rocky start, Cyberpunk 2077 managed to become the biggest single-player PC release on Steam, peaking at over one million players on launch day. However, its player count quickly dwindled to less than 200,000, while Baldur’s Gate 3 has maintained a steady player base more than triple that size.

Even Hogwarts Legacy, which debuted earlier this year and initially drew in over 800,000 players, experienced a similar decline in player numbers as Cyberpunk. Within 26 days of its release, it dropped to less than 100,000 players.

The only single-player title that comes close to Baldur’s Gate 3’s achievement is Elden Ring. FromSoftware’s game enjoyed a larger launch than Larian’s gem and maintained traction for 24 days before being overtaken by Baldur’s Gate 3.

Nevertheless, FromSoftware can still be proud, as Elden Ring averaged over 400,000 daily players throughout its first 26 days.

With these impressive statistics, Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently a strong contender for Game of the Year. Even if it doesn’t claim the title, it will undoubtedly be cherished by its dedicated and active player community.
