Players in Bronze ranks are dominating the mid lane with an unconventional pick – Garen. This simple champion has surprisingly become the best mid laner with an impressive win rate of 54.19 percent, according to League stats site U.GG.
Garen is known as the easiest champion to learn, but that doesn’t make him weak. Once he gets ahead, it’s challenging to stop him. In lower rankings, junglers often focus on ganking mid, which may explain why these Garen mains are finding success. They play aggressively and effectively until they destroy the enemy Nexus.
Not only is Garen dominating the mid lane, but he also excels in his original position at top lane. He holds the third-highest win rate in Bronze with a solid 52.95 percent.
While Garen is an off-meta pick for mid lane, other champions in the meta are also being played by mid laners. Naafiri and Swain, two of the strongest mid laners in Patch 13.16, have the second and third-best win rates respectively.
However, the dynamics in the mid lane may change soon with the upcoming release of Patch 13.17, scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 30.
