Adil “ScreaM” Benrlito, the former captain of Karmine Corp’s VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) starting roster, has announced his departure ahead of the 2024 season. The decision comes after Karmine Corp confirmed that their existing roster will be disbanded, prompting ScreaM to explore other options for his future. His contract with Karmine Corp is set to expire in 2024, according to the VCT global contract database.
ScreaM expressed his understanding and respect for the organization’s decision in a recent Twitter post. He acknowledged his own imperfections and responsibilities, recognizing that the past season had been extremely challenging. Despite the difficulties, he thanked the fans for their support throughout the journey.
This move aligns with recent reports indicating that Karmine Corp is looking to rebuild its roster for the upcoming season, with all players and coaches being made available for transfer except for Ryad “Shin” Ensaad.
The 2023 season was notably disappointing for Karmine Corp, as they finished last in the VCT EMEA regular season with a record of 2-7. Their map score stood at 4-15, with a round differential of -93. The team faced further setbacks when assistant coach Ahmed “ZE1SH” Sheikh had to step in as a substitute after Alexis “Newzera” Humbert requested to step down from the lineup.
Despite these challenges, Karmine Corp put up a respectable performance in the VCT EMEA Last Chance Qualifier. They secured a 2-1 victory against BBL Esports in the opening round but were ultimately defeated by Giants and Natus Vincere, finishing in fourth place.
ScreaM expressed his dedication and commitment to the team, stating that he gave his all to try and secure victories. He expressed a desire for more celebratory moments and hopes to avoid any further dramas. He remains motivated and eager to return to the server and compete in LAN events.
ScreaM confirmed that he and the rest of the existing KC roster will strive to end on a positive note when they face T1 in a showmatch at the KCX3 fan fest event on September 16.
Overall, this decision marks a new chapter for ScreaM as he explores new opportunities outside of Karmine Corp’s VALORANT Champions Tour roster.
