Armored Core 6 Receives Praise and Sparks Hope for Future Games
Armored Core 6 has recently been released to widespread acclaim, and according to Bandai Namco, this success could pave the way for more games in the franchise. The critical reception of Elden Ring, another game by FromSoftware, played a significant role in attracting new players to Armored Core 6, as they were drawn to the studio’s reputation for delivering high-quality games.
Bandai Namco EU CEO Arnaud Muller expressed his enthusiasm for the series, stating that Armored Core 6 is a significant step forward. While it may not reach the sales figures of Elden Ring, the publisher is eager to explore further possibilities with FromSoftware and expand the Armored Core IP.
Fans of the series have eagerly welcomed this news, as Armored Core has been dormant for a decade. With Armored Core 6 being the 15th installment in the franchise, many long-time players are excited to see it make a mainstream comeback. Additionally, there is a strong desire for FromSoftware to release DLC, further enhancing the game’s content.
In the past, each numbered entry in the Armored Core series has been followed by at least one standalone expansion. It would not be surprising to see a similar approach taken with Armored Core 6. The game’s campaign structure and Arena mode provide ample opportunities for new missions and content. FromSoftware could easily introduce new weapons and parts through the Parts Shop or hide them within missions. They could also enhance the replayability of the game by adding new content to NG+ and NG++.
Muller highlighted that Armored Core 6’s combat remains faithful to what fans of FromSoftware are accustomed to. While it is not a Soulslike game, it incorporates elements from the Souls series that make it accessible and enjoyable for both new and experienced players. The quick boost, repair kits, and challenging boss fights are all familiar features that fans appreciate.
Given the positive reception, strong launch, and support from Bandai Namco, it is highly likely that new Armored Core content will be developed. This is an exciting prospect for newcomers and long-time fans alike, as the future of the franchise looks promising.
