Initially, Briar’s Blood Frenzy would even affect allied champions, making her a grave danger to both friends and foes. She had an astonishing 300 percent increase in movement speed and attack speed, which led to her creating killing sprees from anyone in the server. However, developers realized that this would cause more frustration than skill expression, so they decided to modify her ability.
Now, Briar’s Blood Frenzy only focuses on enemy champions, sparing her allies from her ravenous attacks. This change was made to align with her thematic concept of being a person who doesn’t want to harm her friends. She strives not to kill her besties and values the importance of knowing other people.
Riot Games has previously experimented with champions attacking allies, such as Renata Glasc, whose ultimate ability forces enemies to fight their teammates. However, Briar’s ability is more unpredictable and requires her allies to avoid her unless they want to face her razor-sharp teeth.
