The highly anticipated Super Mario Bros. Wonder game for the Nintendo Switch is generating a lot of excitement following yesterday’s Nintendo Direct dedicated to the new 2D Mario adventure. However, one feature of the game has some players feeling skeptical.
The talking flowers in the game have been a topic of controversy among players who have glimpsed into the future and already find them annoying, even before playing the game. But fear not, as a report by NintendoLife reveals that these flowers can be silenced.
According to a rough translation from Nintendo’s Japanese website, players will have the option to mute the flowers entirely. Not only that, but they can also change the language in which the flowers communicate.
In the Direct video, the flowers are shown providing funny remarks and helpful hints, which may not sit well with some players who prefer to figure things out on their own. Being guided by a cheerful little plant might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
However, some of the plants are actually quite grateful and offer rewards like coins when given water. So, while some players may choose to keep the voices on, having the option to turn them off or even hear them speak in a different language is a welcome addition.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder introduces a plethora of new features to the series, with the talking plants being just the tip of the iceberg. The game includes co-op gameplay, online features, and exciting power-ups such as transforming into an elephant, wearing a drill hat, or blowing bubbles at enemies.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting a new 2D Mario game, and Wonder is the first since 2019’s Super Mario Maker 2. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Toad, and their friends will embark on a thrilling adventure filled with talking flowers and much more when the game launches on October 20th.
