Modern Warfare 3 Introduces Gear-Based Perk System

superadmin

Modern Warfare 3 is set to revolutionize the perk system in the Call of Duty franchise with the introduction of equippable gear. Players will now have the ability to hand-select the perks they want to bring into multiplayer matches. Leaks from a well-known CoD leaker, BobNetworkUK, have provided details on the different perks available for “gloves” and “boots.”

Gloves Perks

The “gloves” perks primarily focus on weapon handling and equipment usage. Here are the options:

– Assault Gloves: Improve accuracy and time to aim down sights (ADS) while jumping.
– Custom Gloves: Increase weapon swap speed.
– Scavenger Gloves: Resupply ammo and throwing knives from dead players.
– Specialist Gloves: Throw equipment further and reset fuse timer on thrown-back grenades.
– Tactical Combat Gloves: Enable reloading while sprinting.
– Marksman Gloves: Reduce sway and flinch while aiming down sights (ADS).

Boots Perks

The “boots” perks mainly enhance movement abilities. Here are the options:

– Canvas Sneakers: Eliminate footstep sounds.
– Stalker Boots: Increase strafe and ADS movement speed.
– Tactical Pads: Increase slide distance, allow full ADS while sliding, and improve stance transition speeds and crouched movement speed.
– Ultra Light Boots: Increase movement and swim speed, reduce noise while swimming.
– Running Sneakers: Increase Tac Sprint duration and reduce refresh time.
– Climbing Boots: Increase climbing and mantling speed, reduce fall damage.

The MW3 reveal blog on the Call of Duty website has hinted at the inclusion of a “tactical vest” and other equipment options. Bob also mentioned a possible item called the “Gunner Vest,” which may allow players to equip two primary weapons at the cost of their lethal and tactical equipment.

Instead of selecting perk packages that can be swapped during a match, players will now have to choose an equipment loadout. More details are expected to be revealed by Call of Duty as the MW3 launch on Nov. 10 approaches.
