Square Enix recently held a panel at PAX West 2023 for Final Fantasy 16, where producer Naoki Yoshida shared some exciting news. The game will be receiving paid expansion DLCs, and free updates are already available.

During the panel, Yoshida announced that Final Fantasy 16 is currently in development for the PC version. Additionally, two paid DLC expansions are also in the works. These expansions were prompted by the positive reactions from fans who wanted to delve deeper into Valisthea’s story and spend more time with its inhabitants.

In terms of the free update, Yoshida revealed that it includes new alternate outfits for Clive, Jill, and Torgal. Clive receives a dark “Burnt Black” outfit, Jill gets a “Snow White” dress, and Torgal’s fur now has a cool “Icy Blue” effect that also changes his eyes to blue.

The update also introduces the Onion Sword weapon, which possesses the same attributes as other downloadable weapons like Braveheart and the Blood Sword. Additionally, a new weapon skin feature allows players to change the appearance of Clive’s weapon while retaining its current stats.

Furthermore, the update brings various quality-of-life improvements and balance fixes. These include fixing text issues, providing new options for Torgal’s behavior, and increasing the vulnerability time of small enemies to follow-up attacks.

To showcase these new features, a trailer for the update was released. However, players who have just started the game should be cautious of potential spoilers.

Overall, Final Fantasy 16 fans have much to look forward to with the upcoming DLC expansions, the PC version, and the recent free update. Stay tuned for more exciting developments in Valisthea!
