Pokémon Go Bugs: Routes and Research Not Working Properly, Players Frustrated

superadmin

Pokémon Go, like any live-service game, is not immune to game-breaking bugs. Unfortunately, the situation seems to be at its worst currently with the latest update 0.281.2. Some of the most popular mechanics, including Routes and Research, are not functioning as intended, leading to frustration among players.

Routes, which were added during the Season of Hidden Gems in July, are a great way for players to connect with nearby Trainers in the Pokémon Go community. However, since their release, Routes have been plagued with bugs. Many players have reported that the app crashes when they try to access a route, and once the Routes tab is expanded, it cannot be dismissed. The only known workaround is to restart the app. Niantic, the developer of Pokémon Go, has acknowledged the issue and is working on a permanent fix.

In addition to the Routes problem, there are several other bugs that still need attention. One player reported a wording issue with the latest Field Research tasks. The Snapshot Field Research tasks ask players to take three pictures of Pokémon of a specific type. However, the wording of the task is confusing, leading to players taking three snapshots of the same Pokémon instead of three different ones. Another bug affecting iPhone users causes phantom vibrations when the Pokémon Go app is running in the background. This can be quite alarming for players who experience random vibrations on their phones.

Other glitches that Niantic has yet to fix include Trainer avatars turning black, making Routes in Map View invisible, and notifications or in-game text appearing in garbled font. These issues can disrupt the gameplay experience for many players. Hopefully, the next patch will address these problems and provide a smoother gaming experience for Pokémon Go enthusiasts.

Despite these bugs, Pokémon Go remains a popular game, and players are eagerly awaiting the fixes for these issues. Niantic has a dedicated support team that is actively working to address the problems and provide a better gaming experience for everyone.
