Bethesda Commits to Fixing Redfall Despite Poor Launch

superadmin

Bethesda refuses to give up on the troubled vampire shooter, Redfall, despite its disastrous release. The publisher’s head of global publishing, Pete Hines, stated that they do not abandon projects just because they stumble at the start. Drawing comparisons to previous launch failures like The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76, Hines expressed confidence in Redfall’s potential for improvement.

Acknowledging the game’s rocky start, Hines emphasized the importance of learning from mistakes. He mentioned that both The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76 faced initial challenges but eventually became successful titles. Hines believes that Redfall, despite its flaws, can still be an enjoyable game with ongoing improvements.

Bethesda has plans to enhance Redfall’s performance, including boosting the frame rate to 60 FPS. Hines expressed his desire to see the game thrive in the long term, particularly through services like Game Pass. He firmly believes that Redfall will have a decade-long lifespan on Game Pass, although its current reception may cast doubt on that claim.

Released in May, Redfall received overwhelmingly negative reviews from critics and players alike. Xbox boss Phil Spencer even addressed the game’s performance issues, acknowledging the gamebreaking bugs that plagued its launch. Despite promising 60 FPS for Xbox players, this feature is still unavailable.

Redfall has numerous issues that need to be addressed before it can reach its full potential. However, Bethesda’s commitment to fixing the game is a positive step forward. While it remains to be seen if players will regain interest, the availability of Redfall on Xbox Game Pass provides an opportunity for redemption.
