Popular streamer shroud has completed Starfield just days after its early access release on Aug. 31. Giving his honest opinion on the game, he initially rates it 8/10 but believes this could soon change. As a Bethesda fan, he anticipates that once modders add new features to the game, his rating could rise to 9/10.
During his Sept. 4 stream, shroud stated, “Honestly it’s an 8/10… With mods that will quickly turn into a nine. Me being a Bethesda fan, it is a 9/10, but if I wasn’t a Bethesda fan, I was just a normie playing the game, it’d be like a seven, seven and a half to an eight.”
shroud’s rating shouldn’t come as a surprise to his followers, as he eagerly delved into Starfield on the first day of early access. Being a devoted Bethesda fan, the game was a perfect match for him.
Furthermore, shroud’s belief in the impact of modders is not unfounded. Historically, modding has greatly enhanced and improved almost every Bethesda game, and Starfield is expected to follow suit. Once mods become available, the game’s potential will be limitless.
shroud’s rating aligns somewhat with the overall consensus among critics. At present, the PC version of Starfield holds an 88 Metascore on Metacritic, indicating positive reviews. Our own review also rated the game highly.
