Valve has removed plaques and posters referencing pro players Adam Friberg and Mikhail “Dosia” Stolyarov from the revamped version of Inferno in CS2. These iconic references, which were beloved by fans, have been deleted despite other pro play references being kept in the new maps. Fans are calling for Valve to reconsider and add these references back, as they are an important part of CS:GO history.
In 2016, Adam Friberg received a street sign called “Via Adamo” in recognition of his impressive plays on Banana, earning him the nickname “King of Banana.” In 2017, Valve added a poster for Dosia, commemorating his 200 IQ grenade throw at the PGL Kraków Major grand finals. These references added to the soul of the game and celebrated memorable moments in CS:GO.
While fans appreciate the revamped version of Inferno in CS2, they believe that these references should not have been removed. They argue that these small details contribute to the game’s history and do not harm the overall experience. Valve’s decision to remove them is seen as inconsistent, as they have previously deleted pro play references when reworking maps, such as Fnatic’s iconic AWP graffiti from Dust 2.
In addition to the plaques and posters, fans are also missing the tic-tac-toe minigame in T spawn and hope that Valve will consider adding it back. These classic references and features are important to the community and contribute to the overall enjoyment of CS2.
