Riot Games has implemented new restrictions in the competitive queue to address the issue of bot boosting and rank manipulation. Players ranked Ascendant and higher can now only invite players who are Platinum or higher to their competitive party. This change aims to reduce the presence of highly ranked players boosting lower ranked teammates in five-stacks, creating a fairer competitive environment.
Astra, one of the least popular agents in ranked play, is receiving a significant buff in Patch 7.05. Previously, while in Astral Form, Astra’s audio was dampened, making it difficult for her to hear her surroundings and effectively use her star abilities. However, with the upcoming patch, Astra will be able to hear everything around her body while in Astral Form. This change is expected to improve her viability and allow players to utilize her abilities more strategically.
Riot’s homage to Los Angeles, Sunset, will officially be added to the competitive map pool in Patch 7.05. Previously available only in the Swiftplay queue and other game modes like Spike Rush and deathmatch, Sunset will now be playable in competitive matches. This addition will introduce new gameplay dynamics and strategies, particularly in mid control, and offer players a fresh experience in the competitive map rotation.
