Vex, the Gloomist, has received buffs in the latest patch, making her a more viable pick in League of Legends. These buffs have resulted in an increase in her win rate, pick rate, and ban rate. With her ability to counter mobile champions and initiate fights, Vex is now a strong contender in the mid lane.
According to data from OP.GG, U.GG, and champion.gg, Vex currently has a 52% win rate, 6% pick rate, and 5% ban rate. These statistics are the highest they have been in recent patches, surpassing popular mid laners like Neeko and Ahri.
Vex’s niche lies in countering mobile champions with her passive damage and fears. Her ultimate also makes her a great initiator. However, her lack of mobility requires strong team synergy to fully utilize her abilities.
Vex’s rise in the meta is timely, as mobility has become a crucial factor in determining the strength of mid laners. Champions like Sylas, Tryndamere, Naafiri, Ahri, and Akali can all be effectively shut down by Vex’s abilities.
Her core build remains unchanged, focusing on full-damage items such as Luden’s Tempest and Shadowflame. Depending on the enemy team’s mobility, players can also opt for Everfrost to maximize Vex’s utility.
In the upcoming Patch 13.18, Vex is not expected to receive any nerfs. However, further details will be revealed in the patch preview.
