After a disappointing year, 100 Thieves’ League of Legends division is looking to turn things around in 2024 by promoting their promising young talent, Rayan “Sniper” Shoura, to the main stage. The 16-year-old top laner has been playing for 100 Thieves’ Challenger and Academy teams and is now set to make his debut in the LCS next year.
Sources have revealed that Sniper has reached a verbal agreement with 100 Thieves and is expected to become the starting top laner for the team. This move would see him replacing the experienced Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho, who recently returned to 100T after a brief stint with Evil Geniuses.
For 100 Thieves, this marks another fresh start after unsuccessful attempts to build a successful roster with star players like Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg and Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng this year. Sniper’s promotion also comes with added pressure as he would be the youngest player in the LCS.
Sniper’s journey with 100 Thieves began in 2021 on their amateur roster, 100 Next, which aimed to provide a better environment for young players on their path to professional play. He quickly progressed through the ranks and earned a spot on the Academy team a year later. Notably, Sniper is the younger brother of Omran “V1per” Shoura, who has played professionally for various organizations.
With a strong family background in League of Legends, Sniper has the potential to become the next big star from North America. Fans have witnessed the rise of young talents like Evil Geniuses’ mid laner Joseph “jojopyun” Pyun, and they hope Sniper can achieve similar success in his debut season next year.
