The Meta Settles as Dota 2 Patch 7.34c Arrives
Valve surprises players with the release of Dota 2 Patch 7.34c, bringing significant changes to heroes, items, and bug fixes. As The International approaches, the meta is starting to stabilize after the major changes introduced in Patch 7.34. While this may not be the final update before TI 12, it gives professional players a chance to adapt to the changes before the tournament in Seattle.
What’s New in Dota 2 Patch 7.34c?
Emerging heroes from Patch 7.34 brought back in line
As The International draws near, certain heroes start to make a comeback in the pro scene. Earthshaker, in particular, has seen a rise in popularity after receiving significant buffs in Patch 7.34b. However, his midlane potential has been reduced with the adjustment of his talents and mana cost increase. Despite this, Earthshaker is expected to remain a strong support pick in the professional meta.
Gyrocopter, on the other hand, has been dominating the game with his increased win rate and popularity. To balance his rise, Valve has nerfed his Flak Cannon, making him less powerful in the early game. This change may affect his presence at The International.
Other heroes like Nature’s Prophet and Earth Spirit have also received nerfs due to their strong performance in high-ranked games. These adjustments aim to bring them back in line with other heroes.
Omniknight, Clinkz, and Nyx Assassin receive buffs
In contrast to the nerfs, several heroes have received buffs in Patch 7.34c. Omniknight’s Repel has been improved with a shorter cooldown and reduced mana cost, making him more viable in matches. Clinkz has also seen a significant damage boost, benefiting both himself and his Skeleton Warrior allies. Nyx Assassin’s abilities have been enhanced, making him a hero to watch out for in the upcoming games.
