Players logging into World of Warcraft Dragonflight are finding themselves bombarded with an increasing number of activities on the Dragon Isles. While some feel overwhelmed and confused, this expansion’s bloat might actually be its best quality.
In a Reddit post on Sept. 10, players expressed their frustration at the rapidly growing number of things to do, admitting they often feel lost and unsure of where to go. Some even opt to ignore the new content and focus on other aspects of the game.
Blizzard added Dreamsurge events on Sept. 5, further complicating matters and making it even harder to keep up.
However, the good news is that players are not obligated to participate in all of these activities. Dragonflight offers players the freedom to choose how they want to play the game, with no time-gated content or locked lore stories. There are also various gear sets available for different playstyles.
While regular players appreciate this flexibility, new and returning players may struggle to keep up and may even give up on the game before giving it a fair chance.
Blizzard should consider streamlining and making these quests and activities more beginner-friendly. Providing the option to skip certain questlines and emphasizing that this content is not mandatory would be beneficial. In-game guides, especially for newer and returning players, could also greatly enhance the player experience.
