Mythic+ Gear in Great Vault to be Harder to Earn in Season Three

superadmin

The Great Vault in World of Warcraft is a reliable source of good gear, especially early in a season. However, in Dragonflight season three, obtaining high-quality gear in the vault will be more challenging.

Currently, players can acquire gear on the Myth upgrade track by completing Mythic+ dungeons at keystone level 16. But in season three, players will need to complete dungeons at level 18 and above to receive Myth gear as a reward in the Great Vault, according to a recent data mine from WoW coverage site Wowhead.

In season three, completing Mythic+ dungeons at levels seven to 17 will still award gear on the Hero track at the end of the week. Only by conquering keystone levels 18 and higher will players have a chance to obtain Great Vault gear on the Myth track.

While this change may disappoint players who enjoy quickly gearing up at the start of a season, it could result in a more balanced gearing process in season three. In the current season, players often reach near-maximum item levels within the first few resets. With the increased difficulty in obtaining the best gear, it is likely that the average Mythic+ player will not possess fully upgraded Myth gear until the eighth or ninth week of the season.

Additionally, the maximum item level for Great Vault gear in season three will be 483, as reported by Wowhead. This gear will be classified as “Myth 2/4” for upgrading purposes, meaning the highest achievable item level next season will be 489 once the gear is fully upgraded with Shadowflame Crests.

It is important to note that all this information is subject to change before the launch of Dragonflight season three later this year. Patch 10.2 does not have an official release date yet, but players can expect it to go live before the end of 2023.
